📜 1784 – Ben Franklin suggests it (as a joke!). ⏳ 1916 – Germany adopts DST during WWI to save energy. 🇺🇸 1918 – U.S. follows, then repeals it after the war. 🕒 1966 – The Uniform Time Act standardizes DST in the U.S. 🔄 2005 – DST is extended by 4 weeks in the U.S.

The Pros & Cons of DST

Energy Savings – Less artificial lighting needed. More Outdoor Time – Longer daylight hours. Improved Safety – Fewer evening accidents. ❌ Cons: Sleep Disruptions – Harder to adjust. Productivity Loss – Temporary work slowdown. Not Universal – Some places don’t observe it.
